Illustrating Fables
Join us for a special afternoon with renowned illustrator John Vernon Lord as he introduces The Ditchling Fable Book - a beautifully designed new publication by Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft, created in collaboration with designer Gavin Ambrose.
John will explore the art of illustrating fables, sharing insights into the 110 illustrations he created for the 1989 edition of Aesop’s Fables (Jonathan Cape), which earned him the Victoria and Albert Museum’s Book Illustration Prize in 1990.
This new book brings together a curated selection of those illustrations, focusing on scenes that feature the village of Ditchling, where John has lived and worked for over 50 years.
